Hi! My name is Mohamed, founder of MONK med and current medical student at Carle Illinois School of Medicine. Not too long ago I was in your shoes, applying to medical school, overwhelmed with information, hindered by cost, and alone. I couldn’t ask my uncle to read my personal statement (because he is a farmer…also does not speak english…) and I could not afford to pay 180 dollars per read through. I was left with my university advising, which was great, but overcrowded. This anxiety-inducing dynamic planted the seed that made MONK med.
Here at MONK med my motive is simple. I want to help those who felt the way I felt when I was applying. I want to be your source of writing guidance. No strings attached. I am not here to squeeze you out of money and string you along. I am not here to waste your time. I want your voice to be preserved in your writing, and support your dream.
MONK med began as a heartfelt endeavor by students, for students, born out of a shared understanding of the trials and tribulations faced during the medical school application process. This grassroots initiative reflects the genuine commitment of its founders to create a supportive and affordable resource for aspiring medical students, making the path to medical school a little less daunting and a lot more attainable
